King’s Lodge School
Governing Body
The Governing Body at King’s Lodge School is a committee of the Board of Trustees of The Athelstan Trust. It operates under Terms of Reference and Scheme of Delegation which describe the powers the Trustees have delegated to the local Governing Body.
The governors are a group of committed individuals from the local community who work together to:
offer positive support and challenge to the Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure clarity of vision, ethos, strategic direction, and accountability;
assist the Trust in overseeing educational performance, principally through the objectives of the School Improvement Plan;
help provide a school environment where pupils can thrive academically, emotionally, socially, and enjoy school life as they progress on their learning journey;
strengthen the link between the Trust, parents, and the school community.
Governors can be contacted through the school Office or by emailing community@kingslodge.wilts.sch.uk (please put ‘for the attention of The Governors’ in the subject header).
If you are interested in joining the KLS Governing Body, the Chair of Governors would be happy to have an informal conversation in the first instance. There is no job description for the role as each governor brings their own unique skills and experience and skills gaps will depend on the existing serving governors at any given time.
